Nick Hector is a CSA, HotDocs, Gemini, DGC, and CCE award-winning editor, filmmaker, and producer, who has joined the film faculty at the University of Windsor and our Live Doc Project team. On the occasion of the incredibly successful and record-breaking national theatrical release of Sharkwater: Extinction and its premiere at the Windsor International Film Festival, we would like to highlight Nick’s powerful work on this beautiful film which celebrates and advances the spirit and legacy of the great and courageous Rob Stewart. This important film received a 6 minute standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been held over as part of its Canadian Theatrical release. We are so thrilled to have Nick contributing his formidable chops to the stories, images, and structure of live interactive documentary! Watch the trailer and see Nick here.
The goal is to take elements of interactive documentary and put them in real/analog space. Humans instead of algorithms process the options, allowing the film to be spontaneous and the pathways infinite.
